Man, I really liked New Avengers up till this point. I heard that Bendis didn't even pay attention to continuity when he chose all of the villains that the hood rounded up. For instance, The Constrictor is part of the initiative, but he is shown in the comic. Also, The Wrecking Crew were sent to some other dimension.

I do kind of like the concept of a villains Initiative, though. But is The Hood the one to run it?

i agree that it was kind of a burn that it was the last tiny little panel...but for once i read new avengers and didn't get disgusted with either the story or the art...tigra got f'd up...

I bought it because...

1) Jigsaw is in it, and I thought it mught tie-in to his appearance in PWJ #11. WRONG!!!

2) I thought that it might help explain why Frank is wearing some kind of Symbiote suit in PWJ #12. WRONG!!!

Yeah, I got this because I had been enjoying the story up to this point. But this issue gave me serious pause. It was a complete departure from the current arc, it had almost no continuity with anything (except in a very general way), and Yu's art just killed it for me. Highly disappointing. More crap editing from Marvel.

One of the most misleading covers ever! I'm a faithful reader of New Avengers and as I was flipping the pages, I never got my scene of the symbiote fight. Curse you Bendis and Yu. I thought Tigra would die, maybe I was wrong. Hopefully Mighty Avengers will deliver next week.

Wow I'm completely opposite. Aside from the art, I thought this was one of the best issues ever. I agree that the cover was misleading, but I don't care about symboites anyway so I really don't care. This issue will hopefully have a huge effect on where this series is going. I am a bigger fan of villains so a villain initiative/league would be the best comic IMO.

i totally agree with you...a very misleading but otherwise cool as hell cover...the story was great too because it shined some light on this hood character...hopefully this will be the start of something great with new avengers...hated the whole elektra/ninja nonsense the last few issues

UPDATE - Now that I've read it, Frank is at least mentioned...after viewing Tigra's assault, someone mentions Frank Castle, and Jigsaw says, "He's next!"

New Avengers has yet to disappointed me. I'm always impressed, and just wish it was tieing into Mighty Avengers better.

You guys hit it....I loved this.

I dug the story. Just was disspointed in the lack of symbiotism(hey it's a word......now). I hate that NA is so far ahead of MA. We are like halfway through the arc & MA hasn't even finished it's first one yet. I wish they woulda just held NA off for them.

if MA's creative team would get their head's out of their asses, then things might be smoother...regardless I hope this is the start of some good stories for NA...

Yeah, I hadn't read it yet when I started this thread but after I read it I found that it was still a very good issue and I loved it. New Avengers is one of my favorite Marvel titles right now and I love Yu's art despite what everyone else says. It was just the lack of Wolverenom that made me sad. I can deal though, this just means he'll be in the next issue. Also, after I read it, I looked at all the symbiotes in that panel and I couldn't even see him.
