Madness Sets In

It took me a while to get into this comic, as its just been sat beside me for a while now not being read. So today I decided to finally read it.

This issue showcases how much of a war-torn hell-hole Gotham has become since the disappearance of Batman. The gangs have taken back Gotham and are wreaking absolute carnage throughout the streets. The heroes are all trying desperately to maintain order, but the gangs outnumber them tenfold and the heroes are in over their heads as they go out each night to try and fight the ever rising level of crime.

This issue focuses on the villains just as much as it does the good guys. You've got appearances from every good and bad guy that has ever been related to Batman or had connections to Gotham in any way over the past 60 odd years Batman has been around. Catwoman, The Riddler, Black Mask, Scarecrow, Birds of Prey.. yada yada yada. Literally every is here. There is a huge spoiler considering Arkham Asylum and the villains from within it. Doubtless, it will make many-a decent story or two in future Batman comics!

This issue was written very well and drawn superbly, the artwork was an absolute god-send and made this issue so much more enjoyable! The witting was well structured and made all this madness and chaos seem exciting! When Tim was trying to solve and work out who this imposter Batman was, it felt like a true detective at work, just like Batman used to solve crimes.

All ending on a pretty awesome last page, you cannot go wrong with this issue. Bang for your buck indeed right here.

A lot of great twists for the long term state of Gotham city, I'm just going with the flow and enjoying it. I'm looking forward to what this issue has set-up!
