This series was so good when it first started up. I know that is an extreme way to start a review but the last 3 issues have been going down hill for me. I had high praises for issues 6 and 7. Not so much for issue 8. Issue 9 sucked, and issue 10 was.....beyond stupid.
Man, where to begin. Larroca's art has been slipping in a big way. Sad for me to say, because I am a fan, but it is so hit and miss from panel to panel that it drives me insane! Norman Osborne at times looks young enough to be his son.
And if you thought that because I lead off with the art, that this is why this issue sucked, just wait. Now I know what I am about to say is a spoiler but trust me, it is a public service that I announce this: Pepper Potts is now Iron Woman.... I just made up the name, but you read right, she has donned a special female, retro-fitted armour and is ready to go kick some butt! Sorry if I made that sound cooler than it was was. Let me fix that. THIS IS BEYOND STUPID!!!! Don't get me wrong, I knew it was coming. Fraction has been setting it up for a few issues now. I was just hoping that somebody would come to their senses before they actually chose to do this.
This issue did not leave me with any sense of urgency like it should have (Tony's life is in ruin!) and threw in ridiculous scenes like it was some really bad Hollywood movie.
I'm going to buy the next issue because the cover shows Iron Man fighting War Machine. But if it doesn't deliver then bye-bye Golden Avenger...
