Marvel's next generation of super-hero makes her official debut in the pages of MS MARVEL #1 and what an awesome book it is!
Kamala Khan is your average Muslim-American teenager making her way in the world when she's exposed to (SPOILERS), and she becomes the new MS MARVEL! And that's pretty much all you need to know.
This book is wonderfully simple in the fact it captures the old school MARVEL feel of a teenager's journey to become a super-hero (i.e. Spider-Man, Nova, etc) while balancing out life, family and all the other distractions teenager's face. The media loved to play up the fact that Kamala is Muslim, something that you honestly don't notice as much as the story progresses. It's like a subtle song playing in the background of the story. It doesn't define the character or make her unique. Or maybe it does. But it's never pushed down the throat of the reader.
I highly recommend picking up this book, and if you're a collector, shame on you if you don't already own a copy. MARVEL has openly said they have big plans for KAMALA, so stock up on this book now!
