Johns and Franks - A Match Made in Metropolis!

I was a little worried that a storyline could measure up to the enjoyable "Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes" story arc that just wrapped up, but Action Comics #866 was a purchase well made, in my opinion.

Gary Frank's art continues to impress, and Johns penchant for simplistic nods and winks to comic fans in his stories haven't been seen this wonderfully since Mark Waid wrote JLA: Year One. It's SO good to see the robot version (albiet a little different) of Brainiac appear again, although he MIGHT be a little too "Terminator" for my taste. The return of Cat Grant to the pages of a Superman comic just makes me feel as if a random death of a supporting Superman character might be around the corner, but I digress.

Listen, put your cabbage here if you want a good story with solid art, and a GREAT looking Superman. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because it's not WEEKLY.
