So this issue marks the end of this short-lived 'Late Rites' story arc which followed on from 'R.I.P'.. this issue also says farewell to Grant Morrison who has been writing this title for some time now!
What can I say here accept from that I had poor expectations for this issue based on my confused thoughts on the previous issue which made no sense to me.. but this issue however was a real turn around for the books.
It kind of took my expectations and shoved them where the sun dont shine, because this issue was pretty good and cleared a lot of the confusing bits of junk up which were left after R.I.P.
This issue made sense of the previous issue and of the whole outcome to R.I.P.
It turns out that R.I.P was no way as significant as DC hyped it up to be, it was mearly just another daily bad guy face off, which was kind of dissapointing, but it was good to have it cleared up.
This issue is basically letting us know that R.I.P happened before Final Crisis, and that Batman must have survived R.I.P because he is in Final Crisis, and this issue leads straight into Final Crisis #6 which will hold in store Batman's fate.
Although at the end of this issue, it looks like Batman is coming out somewhat the winner in this Final Crisis story.
A good issue because it cleared a lot of confusing story up and made sense of everything which has happened in Batman continuity recently.
Grant Morrision left the title here with a fairly good issue to see himself off with.
