This issue is the epitome of the problem with Marvel Comics. Never mind the characters that are interchangeable and unrecognizable, changing personalities at the whim of the plot. Never mind the generic, Bendis-inspired stammering "real-life" speech patterns.
The problem is the cross-overs. After slogging through the mess of the previous story arc (in which I missed an issue in my reading and didn't even notice!), to have characters on page one giving exposition about the events in a cross-over I have no intention of buying!
What happened to the mini-series? What happened to the days where every issue was someone's first? What happened to following a title and not being lost?
My collection is littered with aborted runs like this where I couldn't continue to give Marvel my money for partial stories. I don't care for the events. I want to know what is going on in the book I collect.
And get off my lawn.
