Well intentioned, I'm sure, but....
I grabbed a bunch of Champions recently at a deep discount. I had enjoyed the first few issues, due to Mark Waid's writing and the cross-over with the Avengers, but my budget couldn't handle keeping the title on my pull list at the time.
This issue, though...man. School shootings are never an easy subject. There is something both heavy handed and trivializing about this issue.
I can love when Spider-man does a more personal story, like "The Kid who Collected Spider-man" or its recent revisit in "Spider-Bite" or Thor's story in Avengers #9 a few years back.
But this...it was too much for me. Perhaps because I don't know these characters all that well. I just don't know. It was not for me.
And a quick Google search makes me feel like I'm in the minority.
