I have been luke warm on this series for some time. Time travel stories don't really excite me. They always seem to be more of an excuse to disregard continuity.
That said, this issue was really good. For the first time in a long while Cable came across as a character with genuine conviction. I believed him and his struggle. I think it was his desperation and the lengths he was forced to due to this desperation.
I see heartbreak in Cable's future though. I'm not sure Hope is as convinced of her role as Cable is.
A good read, in many ways. Some good apocalyptic ideas, strong characterization and a nice lead in to future issues.
