I know the title of my review for this issue is somewhat ripped from SpidermanGeek's review of this issue, but I'd be lieing if I said that it really wasn't picking up pace.
This issue get's things moving with a new faster pace, while keeping the same great consistency that this series has had from issue to issue so far.
What I liked here was that this issue was mainly focused on how Skaar's nature and personality do not match the people's prophecy, and how they are starting to think that he is not all he is hyped up to be. It was a really great way to take this issue and Pak pulled it off very well.
So we see our hero and his travelling companions finally reach Prophet's Rock, but when they get there, it turns out that faithful & loveable Old Sam, didn't have in mind exactly what he led the rest of the group, and even Skaar himself to believe.
It wasn't a drastic spoiler, but it wasn't a poor let down either, it was just a reasonable unexpected twist.
There is certainly an element of mystery to this book now, and I am expecting some pretty big things from this series from now on from the tone of the way characters interact and the general atmosphere. I just get that feeling that something big is coming.
There was a truly awesome fight scene here as there always is, although this one seems a bit different from the rest, it was more about the narrative going on while the fight was under-way which was leading the comic forward, it was interesting and entertaining.
Great writting, and great artwork as always, It's safe to say I am not getting bored of this title one bit.
