Picking Up Steam

Let me start off by saying that I am really enjoying this street level drama. There have been so many Earth shattering, cosmic events of late that it is nice to scale back the environment a little and utilize some of the lesser talked about characters.

Daredevil has always intrigued me. I love a character who can't knock down buildings but can still take down the Hulk. And with all the turmoil in his life, it is not too far a stretch to see him pulled to the "dark side."

The second instalment of this series continues portraying the struggle between the new, darker Daredevil and the heroes close to him. Daredevil makes it very clear that he wants more super powered people on his side. Iron Fist, Moon Knight, Spider-Man and a who's who list of street level New York heroes look to stop DD and figure out why he is acting so strange.

The last page of this book sets up a nice conflict that should play out well in issue three, as we learn more about this drastic shift in the New York landscape.

Strangely enough, if I had one complaint, it would have to be the cover. The cover art was horrible. I almost didn't buy the issue because I hated it so much. It is very amateur in every way. I was just glad the interior art was better.

This series is just getting rolling and should be a fun ride. It's still not too late for you to jump on!

Now that's the opposite of most comics; great cover pages for less than stellar inside cover material.
