Why the attraction with the Dawn character? I single out the character because there is not much of the stories from Linsner that can be said to stick to the mind after you have read them. It's a light read of themes that have been done better in other media including comics. So again, why the fascination with the dawn character since her figure adorns all comic shops and her comics must sell to make a comeback after such a lengthy retirement. I must credit Linsner with having created a character that males, at least, are drawn to by instinct. It must be the alluring figure and wonderful eyes that Linsner has used to catch his prey: the male comic reader.
Well, I’m caught since I bought and read the comic at $5.50, which is not easily done; all this he accomplished with having great images of Dawn in the cover and plenty large inside the comic. If you are looking for a good adventure, this is not your comic. If you are looking for fine art, this may be your comic. If you are looking for Dawn, this is it.
I do believe that Linsner only knows how to draw Dawn-type female characters. Having bought my share of Conan issues with Linsner covers and having seen Dark Ivory and other covers that Linsner has contributed to I can attest that Dawn is in all his female drawings, so I get a lot of Dawn for my buck.
