The Fantastic Four work frantically to find a way to rescue Reed, but he is too far gone. In their despair, Crystal shows up and after hearing about their situation, goes to enlist the help of the Inhumans.
But the Inhumans are very busy, as an invading army sets up on their island and the Inhumans defeat them. When they learn of Reed's fate, Crystal returns with Triton, who is sent into the Negative Zone to rescue Reed, but they don't realize that they also have opened the door to a Negative Zone criminal. Blastaar teams up with the Sandman to conquer the Earth.
