The young lady schemes about how she might line herself up for some of that cash, but she should be worried about the old lady's schemes, and just how 'different' the son might be. 6 pages.

A man lives in fear of nuclear holocaust, so he moves out of the city and builds a house in as remote an area as he can find. Tragically, the house is in a marsh, over an old cemetery. On his first night in the house, it sinks below the soft earth, and he has all of the neighbors burrowing in to introduce themselves. 4 pages.

Wealthy Hugo Walter has everything that he wants except the woman he loves. Instead, she is in love with the town bell-maker, despite her father's wishes. When Hugo is denied her hand in marriage, he plots to kill the bell-maker that night. The attempt goes poorly, and Hugo meets his end in way that leaves him cursed for all time. 5 pages.
