"Outside Bad, Inside Worse"
*Thousands of dinosaurs are inside the formerly protective walls of Monanti City, rampaging and destroying homes, businesses and lives as they single-mindedly march to the High Temple. Predator Defense League soldiers Claw and Lilli discover where the lizards are going, and rush to aid of Lilli's father Iris Murko, sister Crystal, and the little Talpid girl put in their care.
Claw and Iris believe that the Talpid girl is somehow the cause of the dinosaur attack, and Claw attempts to kill her. Lilli intervenes, but in the fight Crystal is bitten by a monster and Claw is sent plummeting on a deadly fall with a horrible end.
In the center of town, a Talpid warrior offers the Monantil Prince and Princess as bait for a telikos. As King Ulas's best soldiers flee, young civilian Avide launches a piece of metal piercing the giant carnivore through the eye to its brain. The beast falls, but this unleashes a sneak attack by Talpid soldiers against the PDL warriors distracted by the dinosaurs.
The PDL is decimated and Baas, leader of the Talpid uprising, takes control of the city from captured King Ulas. In the chaos, wall-builder Pax slips unnoticed out of the city with the Talpid girl and an unconscious Lilli. *Source: Neozoic #5
