This long-running single-panel comics strip is one of the most popular comics series to ever run in American newspapers. Centered around the five-and-a-half-years old Dennis Mitchell for over 50 years. Dennis is a menace to his parents, their neighbors, friends, houseguests, delivery men, etc.
One of the things Hank Ketcham does in Dennis the Menace is show the embarrassing honesty of a child. Not by any other way then the simplest. With Dennis, lacking the social skills to remain silent in order to spare another’s feelings, blurts out painful honesty and truth.
