*The Tamarians, or "Children of Tama" are a humanoid species which use their rich heritage as a means of comminication. The Tamarians speak metaphorically, referring to past events, real or mythological, which are appropritate to the current situation. After several frustrated attempts at communication, the Tamarians captured Captian Jean-Luc Picard and isolated him with their Captain, Dathon. While on the planet El-Adril IV, Picard was able to determine the nature of Tamarian speech, thus establishing communications. *Source: Back of card
