*The crew of Andromeda battle against the ruthless Pyrians in order to save planet Samsarra and avoid a galactic war. Dylan instructs his slipfighters to blockade the imperiled world, but the Pyrian forces prove too powerful and it is decided that Samsarra colonists should be evacuated. Meanwhile, a mysterious elfin woman appears and informs Dylan that he must abandon his efforts or be destroyed. Hunt refuses, and the arrival of High Guard/Commonwealth warships gives him and his crewmates a fighting chance. During the battle, Trance begins to act strangely, and some suspect her of aiding the enemy. Trance ultimately proves her loyalty and helps win the day.
