* The Illustrators of Star Wars. Ken Barr painted this sprawling STAR WARS poster concept (front) in 1977. Unpublished, it's currently in the collection of Sal Quartuccio. A prolific movie poster and book illustrator, Barr has rendered over a dozen paintings and close to 40 line studies based on STAR WARS for a series of Random House projects. Ewoks seemed mostly like cuddly teddy bears. But as Japanese artist Nizo Yamamoto shows in the unpublished illustration of Wicket (back), they could be great warriors too. *Source: back of card.
