Oi, the accents. Y'ar!

I've become a bit of a Ted Naifeh fan thanks to Courtney Crumrin and I like the idea behind this series - a proper boarding school girl is really the daughter of the Pirate Queen. The story is fun and adventurous and well paced. It's just the ridiculously bad accents that Naifeh chooses to give almost every character that throws the whole book off. It took me a few dozen pages to realize the 'English' character was saying "pirates" when the word "poirit" was on the page.
