Anytime in history a new President is heralded in, it's an exciting time. There's a feeling of change in the air; of putting a period on a very long sentence and then the warm fuzzy fresh start of something new.
But politics aside. I'm a little
sick of seeing President
Obama on the cover of comics.
It's
historic. No doubt about it. You're a creator and you're happy about Barack in office, terrific.
Sell your books. However, how many more cover appearances and books are going to come out before this becomes nothing more than political showboating for profit? Alex Ross made his image of Barack bursting out of his shirt like Superman, but I don't see him adding him in the pages of PROJECT SUPERPOWERS titles. I mean,
come on. I remember when Punisher and Wolverine was making appearances in EVERY Marvel Comic in the 90's because he sells books.
Looks like Obama could be the newest member of the
X-Men at this rate. Or at the very least
YOUNGBLOOD.
