The NuEarth thing is a decent idea, but I do keep wondering how they can build a whole new earth but not fix the old one. Millar dismisses it with the "six years too late" thing, but that's too easy an out. Johnny Storm is written completely out of character. Also, this issue had two panels of Thing and Sue didn't make an appearance at all. Basically, this is a Mr. Fantastic mini right now.
My biggest problem is the art. Mostly Hitch's layouts, but also the coloring. I don't want to open Fantastic Four and get a double page flashback coated in pink. But mostly, it's Hitch. The guy seems to only do either extreme close-ups or extreme distance in his panels. It's unnecessary, ugly and headache inducing. And what was that splash page of Mr. Fantastic?! EXTREME close-up on his head to say something completely unimportant. And that gets a whole page? Followed by a boring double page spread with no dialogue. Yeah, that's bad pacing on Millar's part, but Hitch just makes it that much worse. There's also the impossible to see Johnny and the criminal panel. Bad, bad form.
