Secret Invasion Amazing Spider-Man Remains Secret

OK… after all my high praises and building this story up in the first 2 issues, I find the conclusion unacceptable. Problem is, I have to accept it, but I don’t want to. This book made me mad for even buying the 3 issue arc.

First of all, in the first issue we find that there is a super Skrull looking for Spider-Man. OK, I am good with that. Through the whole arc I was wondering why the Skrull was looking for him. I figured since this issue was the conclusion to the story; that my answer would unfold before my eyes in get comic panel form. But to my amazement, there is no answer to that question. Jackpot finally defeats the Skrull, who was continually harassing people trying to find Spider-Man, but we never learn the reason why he was looking for him. Maybe it lies in a cross over somewhere, but that would only continue to make me mad.

OK there is another super Skrull who chases after Harry Osborn. Menace saves Harry by taking the Skrull’s head off with his glider. Kind of a lame way for Harry to win a fight, but I was wanting to find out why this Skrull was after Harry in the first place. To this day, I still don’t know.

OK, maybe these answers lie in wait in a cross over somewhere. But that really burns me up. This is supposed to be a story arc, and could at least give me a hint as to why all the fighting was going on. I understand that Skrull’s are trying to take over the earth, but why run after Harry? Why single out Spider-Man?

This issue left more questions than it answered. It was cool to see Jackpot save the day, but for what reason. I am sadly disappointed about the ending of this story arc. And I am a big Spider-Man fan, but I have to rate this 2 stars. Darn you Marvel. This is another sappy ending to an otherwise great arc.
