The only three complaints I have about this book are 1) I'm not sure how I feel about the cliffhanger/sequel set-up page 2) Land's version of Angel looks way off and 3) it's the Premiere Edition format and not oversized. Now that that's out of the way...
Wow. Just wow. This book is going to be one of those that will be reread a bunch. Greg Pak really deserves all that hype he was getting. It's hard to say if this book holds up well for the non X-Men fan, but for a longtime reader (even one that comes and goes) like me, this is a huge payoff. It uses characters and characterizations of Morrison and Whedon that I really enjoyed in their runs while ignoring the stuff I didn't. The art is, as always from Land stunning. I really, really enjoyed this.
