The US is worried what is going on in the Communist state of Bodavia, given their nuclear ambitions. They tap the physicist who escaped from Grogg in Strange Tales (Vol 1) #83 to lead their spy mission. Once there, he finds not only Grogg, but a Bodavian plot to launch a mission to Mars. He manages to sneak on base, lure Grogg into the ship, and launch it preemptively, foiling the Bodavian ambitions and ridding the planet of Grodd. 13 pages.

The dissident surgeon has been kept imprisoned by the communists, told that unless he performs surgery to save the Commissar's life, he and his wife will be executed. He would love nothing more than to kill the beast, but he performs the surgery, and he and his wife are released to the West. When his wife expresses disappointment in him, he confides that the scalpel that he left near the Commissar's heart will soon find its mark. 3 pages.
"The Macabre Mirror!"

The European Duke was rich beyond compare, but it was not enough for him. He taxed his people into poverty, but the gypsy woman had no money, just a beautiful gold framed mirror. The Duke is incensed and goes to see her himself, and claims the mirror, only to learn that the mirror has, in turn, claimed him. 4 pages.
