Bio: Rod climbed up through the ranks at the Springfield Nuclear Plant to become employee of the month, and still holds the record for the shortest award acceptance speech. Liked and respected by his co-workers, Rod has only one rival, the jealous human safety inspector, Homer Simpson.
Fun Fact: Rod is a dead ringer for another inanimate carbon rod that became a space hero. When Homer Simpson was chosen for a NASA space shuttle mission, Rod's counterpart was instrumental in keeping the ship and crew from burning up in Earth's Atmosphere.
